Biography

Maria-Yassin’s professional experience over the past 16 years has been focussed on the intersection between sustainable finance, the energy / commodities sector and sustainable development. She has held a range of strategically focused in-house commercial roles as well as consulting positions and has in-depth knowledge of the energy and commodities industry (particularly natural gas, metals / minerals, agriculture) and its financing needs at various points along global value chains.

As Transition Finance Lead at SLR, Maria-Yassin is working with investors from across the private and public capital markets, as well as development finance institutions, to finance transition enabling technologies, including their supply chains or robust de-carbonisation plans.

As such, Maria-Yassin is supporting organisations on both sides of investment transactions; helping investees to develop and effectively embed transition and associated ESG strategies to meet investor, regulatory, market and community expectations as well as investors with integrated due diligence activities; covering commercial, technical and ESG considerations.
